About Us
The UK Law Journal Repository is a public, non-profit digital archive dedicated to preserving and disseminating legal scholarship from across the United Kingdom. We provide open access to peer-reviewed law journals, working papers, academic theses, and institutional legal research — free of charge, without restrictions.
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote transparent and inclusive legal knowledge sharing. We aim to support legal educators, students, policymakers, and practitioners by providing direct access to high-quality UK-based legal research that might otherwise be buried behind paywalls or academic silos.
What We Offer
- Peer-reviewed law journal articles from UK institutions
- Working papers, preprints, and early research in legal theory and practice
- Archived PhD theses and dissertations in legal studies
- Legally relevant government and NGO reports
- Advanced search and browsing by topic, author, institution, or year
- Optional PDF previews and local downloads for registered content
Our Origins
Founded in 2025 by legal researchers and digital archivists, the repository grew from a need for a centralised, UK-focused platform that prioritised academic freedom, digital preservation, and open access legal scholarship.
Institutional Affiliation
While the repository operates independently, we work closely with major UK law schools, legal libraries, and research councils to ensure credibility, citation standards, and long-term access to publications.
Editorial & Ethics
Our editorial policy is built on transparency, academic integrity, and inclusivity. All content is either peer-reviewed, institutionally approved, or clearly marked otherwise. We comply with UK copyright law and respect intellectual property rights. Authors retain full rights unless stated.
